Party Animal
Isn't this pic a riot?! It's of Stanley. He hangs out with my friend MegMcB. I stole the pic. But I know Stan (he's even licked himself in front of me), so I thought it might be OK to steal his photo.
Meg treated me to Mi Cocina Thursday for a belated birthday dinner. The food and conversation were great. Not to mention the three limousine, sangria tasty drinks. Can you say "brain freeze?"
Afterward, we stopped next door into Three Dog Bakery to get her boys some treats. I purchased a sale-priced hotdog, reindeer thing, complete with a red nose, for Stanley and his brother George. While paying for this hotdog toy, I tested myself to see if I could calmly tell the sales clerk I had just recently lost my kitty. Failed. I'll try again in a week or two.
No update yet on the bengal cat. Right now, it's fun just pondering the idea. We'll see. Everything works out for the best. I'll keep you posted.

Don't rush it, my friend. It was YEARS before I could coherently deal with losing Ambrose........
But you're doing ok, don't fret.
And take your time over the Bengal - after all, it is a lifetime decision.
cq
btw - that is one wicked-looking pooch!
Happy Belated birthday Cowboy!!
You're right about rushing, cq.
And thank you, ntsm&m. You are too kind. The bday was a few weeks ago, but there's been much going on and we were just able to celebrate. Actually, if I could cash on one bday dinner a month that would be ideal!
Do you have a blog, ntsm&m?
Cowboy, I agree - take your time on your decision. No cat will be your Eponine. I lost my 17-year-old cat Heather in March, and now I have three new kitties. They are all sweet in their own ways, but none are like Heather in temperament or personality. At times I think this makes me more sad - I miss her so. That said, once I learned what not to expect from Turtle, Moose and Nala - they've become a great comfort to me, and I'm glad to share space with each of them.
i'm sorry, but that dog is just weird lookin', but he's probably cuter in person, right?? (i'm tryin' to be diplomatic)
It's super close for one, and he was drunk from all his New Year's celebrating. The pic was taken just after midnight. Actually, maybe his mama was trashed and didn't do a good job setting up the photo. It cracks me up. He's an incredibly lovable hound!
tammara - I'm afraid you are right in that it may make me miss Ep more. As I "undecorate" from Christmas it's like everything leaves me tender. Her stocking, her Santa pillow, the ornaments.... I just read your story of Heather. I plan to link to it on a future post. Made me miss Heather too!
Cowboy, we're going to get the blogs going within the month - the little ones are excited about it as they have a lot to say, the old ones are very cranky and need a little more coaxing! Oh, and yes, one birthday dinner a month would be a really good thing!
Cowboy - thank you for reading Heather's story. I felt the same way about Eponine. I just cried, even though I hadn't known her, because I knew that pain all too well. I will say a prayer that you find just the right new friend (or, as the case often is - that he or she finds you!) when the time is right.
Hey Cowboy,
I'm not sure if you saw this, but I thought this link might interest you: www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10663270/?GT1=7538
