It's Over
The college basketball season ended for my OSU Cowboys. The team lost it's NIT opening-round game. Final score: 62 to 59, losing to the Miami Hurricanes. Oh well. Someone's got to lose. I'm looking forward to rooting on the various Panthers, Lions, Tigers, Wildcats or others that might grab my fancy.

driving in my truck on the way to work this morning, listening to the radio, I heard that OSU lost, and I immediately thought "poor Cowboy". Don't worry, I will be commiserating with you shortly - Pitt never gets past the Sweet Sixteen. - Meezers Mom
Sorry to hear your team lost, Cowboy. Those other teams sure have some pretty good names, tho . . . hopefully it will still be a fun play-off for ya!
This may be Pitt's year, you never know! I truly believe part of the joy of being a sports fan is a renewed sense of belief with each game. I've read before that mental health is better among college sports fans (as opposed to professional) because they tend to be positive/optimistic.
Buzzerbee & Meep-Thanks for your comment. Oh yes, it will be fun no matter what. Some good games already. I think it would have been fun to see Wintrop win. How exciting!
Cowboy, I am the ultimate fan of my college teams. I am always the optimist. I have actually cried when we have lost games and yes, losing to your school in the sweet 16 was one of those times. The ringer on my cell phone is the Pitt fight song. I'm hopeless.
UWM Panthers won!!!! Mum is happy, even happier in that Marquette losted. hehehe
Hey, the Cowboys did pretty well -- lots of teams didn't even make the tournament. (Like my old school)
Meezers, I cried too when we beat your school two years ago. Mostly in disbelief. To be honest, I still can't believe it.
So sorry to see them lose today. I sure hope the "bracket buster" teams keep enough gumption to eventually give Duke or UConn a good contest. Maybe 'Nova will be the surprise team.
Derby, UWM is should be very proud of their effort. Sorry they lost today.
Kelly cat's human, Thanks for visiting and for your well wishes.
