Wild Life Of A Little Monster

Others are scared of me because of all the fun I have. Considered a vigilante by my Eponine.

Speaking Of Immigrants

Daphne checks out the Sonic menuDaphne has moved in with me. She will be hanging out for the next three weeks. You read that right. Sexy Lady and her Army Boy are on a European adventure. Germany, Spain, The Czech Republic - I can't remember the whole trip plan.

Over the weekend, our agenda was packed. We sat in front of a Starbuck's in Westport watching the singles on a Cancer Pub Crawl benefit. Of course, many of the kids were smoking. Hey, it was for a good cause! Daphne loved the attention. Then we went to Sonic with MegMacB. That night we ran the yard in the rain, did laundry and watched television.

Sunday we joined MMB for breakfast. Outdoor dining at a dog-friendly joint. Can't ask for anything better. That cinnamon French toast sure was good too!

The MMB took some video. I don't know how to put the video in the blog, so I'll just provide links. This first one is at the Sonic. Daphne loves that popcorn chicken. The second video is at breakfast. She got a little cold outside, so I kept her in my coat. But it was driving her crazy to watch other dogs walking by. Many more fun times to come over the next several days, I'm sure!

All you have to do to put the video in your post is to copy and paste all the code in the Embedded Player field in your post.

It may seem too simple, but that is all there is too it.

I'm seeing a disturbing trend towards dogs. I think you need to spend more time at Caturday and recenter yourself with the feline world.

Cowboy,

Are you considering being picked by a canine?

she's adorable! especially cute tucked into your jacket, although i can't imagine it being cool enough for a jacket, as it's already bleeding hot here and not likely to cool off until november! but even though daphne's precious and no doubt a great houseguest, don't go getting picked by a dog, no matter how cute! men who love cats are a rare breed, cowboy, and we can't lose you to the dog-team!

i got the same feelin', that you're movin' over to the dogs. you do a lota dog sittin'. i mean, dogs are okay, but they are NOT cats. i think you should check out fosterin' a nice kitty.

Well, if this is any consolation, Daphne has many cat qualities. However, be assured, I do not anticipate a dog in my future. I went to Wayside Waifs just last Friday night and only visited cats. I never visit the dog side. Pet sitting these dogs has just been easy and an escape for now.

Edsel-I just might foster a cat. That is something I have been thinking about it.

Amy-We had a near-record high temperature today. It's been very erratic. But Sunday morning certainly was cool after raining all day Saturday.

She is cute, Tammara. My story about our Sonic visit didn't include a recap of Daphne suddenly becoming aggressive. She didn't appear cute then!

Dee-I promise you, I will stay true to the force! :)

Luna-I'll be sure to visit catspot.com.

MSBD-Thanks for the tip on the code. I often go to Caturday. That Ramona and Harper are growing so very fast. I am very jealous of Zuleme and am very happy for that household. I do sometimes get sad and wish I could be "that far along." We're each on our own journey. Sometimes I think maybe I should just get a kid. :)

Our chihuahua, Chico, loves the popcorn chicken from Sonic too. Hey, mom, how come we never get to go to Sonic? Everytime he comes back from eating out with them he raves about them popcorn chickens. I like popcorn, I like chicken, don't I get any?

Hey Petey, I have to admit that I can throw down my fair share of that popcorn chicken too! I bet Daphne, Chico and I would be in a pretty fierce battle if there was a bowl of popcorn chicken sitting on the floor!

You might be missing out a bit. But if you are at all like my Eponine, you'd only enjoy licking it. You wouldn't want to eat it. That always left me debating on if I should go ahead and eat it after she licked it! :)

cq-I'm actually embarrased. I didn't realize my voice was on there. That MegMacB is tricky. I only watched the video while at work (dial up at home takes too long) and almost always I keep the volume off at work. I never even heard my voice. It is for sure that "talking to a dog/pet sympathetically" voice. My regular voice is, well, much more Cowboy like.

You know what's REALLY funny?

Because I read these blogs with an English accent, it comes as a shock to me when I hear American accents!

That makes me laugh! I saw the one lady, I think her name might be Daphne too, on Frasier the other night (a rerun), and she was practicing her "American." Frasier wondered if her coach was a drag queen. Not a crazie queeen, mind you.

I had forgotten that Daphne was reacting to a child on a leash. It took me a minute to figure out how you knew that!
