I Voted Today
Did you? No matter how crazy all the campaigning can get, I hope you don't ever give up confidence in our ability to express our voice, to make a difference, and to cast our vote.
At 12:52 a.m. with 84 percent of the precincts reporting, Claire McCaskill, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, is leading Jim Talent, the Republican incumbent, by about 25,000 votes. As predicted by all pollsters, this vote is coming down to the wire. The most interesting fact is that after the combined campaign spending topped reportedly $40 million, this election remained so up in the air. However, it appears Ms. McCaskill is claiming victory and Mr. Talent is ready to concede.
It's almost a shocking win. I'm still in a little disbelief. And, as predicted, the outcome of this election may determine the control of the U.S. Senate.

it's been an interesting election - reminds me of 1992 when the Republicans won the house. Lets hope that the scandals that followed don't continue. I'm so tired of it all. - Meezer Mom
Mom did vote too. She said it is doubly worse because she works with one state government and lives in another state - has to listen to it all twice!
Glad you did your duty. Mum wented to bed long before the votes were counted in Whiskconsin. She said, won some, lost some.
Mum was also in Cowboy territory visiting. She was in Oklahoma, specifically Tulsa.
Across the country, the people are sending a message, and it's being heard all the way at the top. Good for us!
We'll see what will be the results of those elected. I also am very anxious to see how history records this period of time and our current president. Hope I live that long!
