Wild Life Of A Little Monster

Others are scared of me because of all the fun I have. Considered a vigilante by my Eponine.

Another Flea Update

You might recall that I mentioned in March that Hooter's was successfully ran out of town. OK, it wasn't ran "out of town," but rather just won't be coming to Kansas City's Wesport. It was big news because the plan was to build Hooter's on the site that is currently The Westport Flea Market.

This Cowboy is still enjoying his fair share of tasty Flea Market burgers. Even my favorite server is back. There are a few changes. For instance, the two-for-one coupons are now capped at $6 and pitchers are a $1 higher. Overall, though, the place is going strong. Jen Chen's May 4, 2006 "Night Ranger" column from The Pitch was about a recent outing to The Flea. Strangely, though, she doesn't report that she ate a burger.

And speaking of no changes, I'm still alone. I've visited Wayside eight times in the last 14 days. I was so positive I could make a decision and was ready. Sorry that I'm a mess. Thanks again for your support.

It's ok Cowboy. You will know when you see the right one. All we can say is keep on going to Wayside Waifs and keep on visiting the poodins. You and a special poodin will eventually find one another. - Meezers and Mom Mary

I wasn't in the market for another cat. Then suddenly, there he was. It happens like that, and it'll happen for you too!

My co-workers keep telling me about two different cats that they've seen wandering around our building. I went out there yesterday searching and ended up having a huge allergy attack believe it or not. I was miserable, but my co-workers sure had a blast making fun of me. Our office is near the highway and back in a wooded area. A place for strays or others cats looking for me maybe.

I know it's going to happen. I hope. Anonymous, I just want a promise that I'll go before Tucker goes. Eventually I know I'm going to overcome this fear. I talked to my sis in California yesterday and she again reminded me that the lifetime promise is just that you'll keep the cat for THEIR lifetime. I try to make it logical - I have a home, it needs a cat, there are cats, at least one needs to live in my home. But then the emotion comes in -- I want to be in love, I want to never have my heart feel so heavy and hurt again, I want.... Yup, I'm still crazy.

Amy-The Cowboys play University of Houston this season there. Maybe I'll make that my away game trip this September! I have two very good KC friends that live there as well.

As you well know, it is such a painful experience to lose a cherished pet. The hurt never really leaves us, but time does make it less all consuming. Your Sis is right, the commitment is to the life of the animal. You sound as though you are a wonderful person that takes great care of your furry charges. I hope you find "the one" (or 2) soon. Not just because I think that there is void in your life from losing Eponine, but from the reality that there are so many cats who need a great home. We ramp up at this time of year at WW and brace ourselves for the 2000+ cats we will take in from now till September (kitten season). Keep on keeping on with your search. I can't guarantee that Tucker (or any other kitty) will have a long and healthy life, but I can guarantee that your life will be richer for the experience you have with them. Godspeed with your search.
